Nowadays, various aspects could affect the production process, one of which is ecological attributes. Incorrect selection of raw materials can make irreparable impacts on the environment. Thus, considering the ecological aspects, material selection is one of the essential works for cleaner production. Aim the current investigations, three selection methods, e. g., the classical method, Charnes-Cooper-Rhodes (CCR) model, and Cross efficiency method, were applied regarding the environmental factors. In this way, the cross-efficiency method is known as the more desirable ranking method, for all ecological factors are exploited, and peer-evolution is used instead of the self-evolution approach. In addition, considering the most detailed data, the ultimate result is a distinctive rank for each unit. PE and Steel are selected as the most favorable options. This ranking method can develop the mentioned method for all food packing processes.
