This paper discusses the use of outliers of a random variable for the purpose of predicting numbers in lottery games. However, the described method is universal and can be used in other areas as well. Lotteries were chosen in this case because of the possibility of using many game databases or random number generators, which makes the method easy to verify. The paper describes how the choice of an appropriate random variable can be used to move from a uniform distribution to a distribution that allows better statistical analysis of data from draw databases, and which can also be used for prediction purposes. The key role here is played by the outliers of the random variable, which are used to calculate the criteria that allow, with the regular updating of the database and the subsequent calculation of the actual values of the random variable for individual game numbers and their comparison with the selected criterion, to extract from the set of all game numbers those numbers or a set of numbers that have an increased probability of being drawn.
