What is AJE?
AJE is a division of Research Square Company, founded in Durham, North Carolina, USA in 2004. AJE's team of US-trained academics has edited over 700,000 technical manuscripts from 2000 areas of study. Why can Digital Editing take up to 45 minutes to complete?
Unlike other automated tools, our software makes changes in your entire document holistically rather than line by line. To achieve this level of editing while preserving the paper's formatting, we send the document through file processing applications that are not instantaneous. During our beta test, total time to completion averaged 10 minutes.
What does my Language Quality Score mean?
AJE used machine learning to develop a tool that assesses your language quality. The model was trained using more than 100,000 academic papers in all areas of study that had been scored by professional editors based on the quality of English. Your Language Quality Score reflects how the quality of English in your paper compares to the other papers in our dataset. Scores take into account all aspects of readability in English, including grammar, consistency, and clarity.
What document types can I upload to the Digital Editing tool?
The Digital Editing tool was trained primarily on research articles and grants, so results are best for those types of documents. We aspire to apply this technology more broadly and welcome you to test the editing quality on a variety of content. We look forward to your feedback!
