A multiband Coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed Hexagonal ring fractal antenna loaded with Labyrinth resonator is proposed, fabricated and measured. The CPW-fed antenna consists of a Labyrinth Resonator (LR)which is fixed on the reverse side of the substrate and iterated Hexagonal Ring fractal on top of FR4. Effects of fractal iterations and the position of the resonator are optimized for multiband characteristics and better performance of the antenna. The impedance matching of the proposed antenna is improved by the introduction of the meandered feedline. The designed antenna has a fractional bandwidth of about 87.93% (3.67-9.43 GHz), 11.21% (9.77-10.93 GHz) and 10.96% (12.93-14.43GHz) in simulation and about 94.63% (3.42-9.43 GHz), 14.17%(9.83-11.33GHz) and 14.46% (12.95-14.97 GHz) in measurement. The overall dimension is 30 × 30 × 1.6 mm3. The experimental and simulated results of a novel meandered CPW-fed printed monopole antenna with LR are reported here, which cover up the entire Ultra Wide Band frequency spectrum with a reflection coefficient of better than -10dB.
